- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Firstmark Aerospace Corp., Creedmoor, NC to provide repairs for the MC-2000 Magnetic Compass Calibrator, Part Number 8502950-904, test set and/or subassemblies in need of repairs that exceed the warranty provisions of the initial contract. The MC-2000 is used to generate accurate magnetic heading references, which are used to characterize magnetic azimuth detectors and to calibrate aircraft compass systems. These services are to include evaluation, calibration, labor, parts and materials necessary to restore the MC-2000 to operational condition. NAWCADLKE intends to procure under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Firstmark Aerospace Corp., Creedmoor, NC is the developer and original equipment manufacturer of the MC-2000, and is the only known firm possessing the proprietary data and technology to successfully meet the requirements of the Navy. The Government does not currently own the data rights. This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. Companies interested in providing an offer must be able to demonstrate in writing, by 6 February 2007, their capability to provide this equipment. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
