- Description
- This project consists of providing five(5)x-ray stimulated model detection modules to the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) Hyper-Ballistic Range Facility. The modules will be used to detect passage of test projectile at fixed points along the range test tank. G, I, S-1, and S-3 are aero-ballistic ranges located at AEDC, Arnold AFB TN. G, I, and S-1 Range use a two-stage light gas gun to launch projectiles at up to 7 km/sec for aerodynamic or impact testing. The G Test Range is a steel containment vessel ten feet in diameter and 1000 feet long. The test range pressure can be set between 5 Torr to atmospheric pressure by use of vacuum pumps. I Range test tank is eighty feet long and is used for impact testing. S-1 is used for research and technology development projects. S-3 is an air driven launcher used for impact testing on aero-structures. This project will replace aging x-ray and laser projectile detector components used to provide timing and event triggers during a range test. Performance period will be 160 days after notice of award. Delivery will be FOB Destination to Arnold AFB TN. Request for Proposal will be available on or about 8 February 2007. Proposal due date will be on or about 15 March 2007 at 2PM Central Standard Time. Request for Proposals will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of RFP Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all available information.
