- Description
- The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Acquisitions Management and Operations Branch (AMOB) has a sole source requirement for a service plan to repair and recalibrate approximately eleven (11) Leica confocal microscopes. The contractor will repair the confocal microscopes upon failure; upgrade system software; train government personnel on new software features; and align and test the system. The NIAID intends to award a contract for one base year and four consecutive option years beginning on or about October 1, 2007 to Leica Microsystems, Inc. on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1. Leica Microsystems is the only responsible source for this requirement. The parts for the microscopes and information for repair are available only from the manufacturer.
