Description
The contractor shall provide qualified personnel, facilities, instructional materials, and services to prepare and teach the ?Safety Aspects of Industrial Radiography? course. The course is intended to increase and maintain the technical competence of NRC and Agreement State radiation control personnel with an understanding of the design, operation, and radiation safety of industrial radiography operations. The course shall include the technical aspects of industrial radiography; equipment used to make a radiograph; required radiation safety equipment; radiation safety as it applies to the receipt, use, storage, and transportation of industrial radiography radiation sources; training and supervision of radiographers; organization and operation of a radiography company; Agreement State licensing requirements; proper conduct of inspections and investigations of licensed industrial radiography operations and unusual occurrences and investigations of licensed industrial radiography accidents; packaging and transportation of industrial radiography radiation sources. In addition, the contractor shall conduct field exercises, which will allow the student to gain hands-on experience in handling all the tools and equipment required of a radiographer. The is a commercial item acquisition. The North American Industry Classification System code for the services required is 611519. This procurement is full and open competition and proposals may be submitted by all offerors, i.e., small businesses, small-disadvantaged businesses, women-owned businesses, veteran-owned business and large businesses. These services were previously performed by Source Production and Equipment Company under contract no. NRC-38-01-285, which has expired. The contract may be viewed at NRC?s Public Document Room (PDR), which is located on the first floor of NRC?s One White Flint North Building at 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. The PDR?s Reading Room is open from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (EST). Telephonic requested to the PDR are accepted on (301)415-4737 or (800)397-4209 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (EST). The entire solicitation and all subsequent amendments will be available on the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ on or about February 5, 2007. Closing date for proposals will be no less than two weeks and no more than 30 days after the issue date of the solicitation. In accordance with FAR Part 5, availability of the solicitation is limited to the electronic medium.
