- The Naval Air Systems Command, Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA 209) intends to award a sole-source firm-fixed price purchase order to Litton Systems Inc., Navigation Systems Division, 21240 Burbank Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA for the procurement of engineering and technical services in support of an investigation regarding an anomaly occurring with the F/A-18 Embedded Global Positioning System Inertial (EGI) Navigation System. Requirements of the vendor include, but are not limited to, review of data related to the anomaly, support of F/A-18 EGI Test Labs in order to coordinate test planning and recommendations for additional non-recurring engineering efforts designed to resolve the anomaly. Activities will include vendor participation in teleconferences and meetings requiring travel. Inspection and acceptance of the deliverables associated with this effort shall be performed by the EGI Integrated Product Team Lead in PMA 209. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). Litton Systems Inc., Navigation Systems Division is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the LN-100 EGI system and the only firm with the necessary knowledge, proprietary data, equipment and experience to perform this effort within the required timeframe. While this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, interested parties may submit information that shall be considered by the Naval Air Systems Command.
