Description
The Government has a requirement for professional Architect/Engineering Services to provide design for Project 621-07-100 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home (Johnson City), TN 37684. The A/E shall provide all architectural and engineering services necessary to increase privacy for patients and provide for increased isolation facilities at medical/surgical nursing units CG and C1, Building 200. These objectives will be met by this project through the renovation of two existing four bed patient rooms (1400 SF) so as to be three private isolation rooms at CG and C1 and includes the reconfiguring of existing day rooms (700 SF ea) on CG and C1 to resident support area. Work includes some demolition, new metal stud/gypsum board walls, new doors and frames, electrical/plumbing (incl. sprinkler) / HVAC modifications, patient support systems, new suspended acoustical ceilings, lighting, and all required new finish work. Work includes preliminary and final contract drawings, cost estimates, specifications, and construction period services. Designs shall be in accordance with all applicable requirements of NFPA, National Electrical Code, Life Safety Code, OSHA, VA Specifications, VA Standard details, VA Construction Standards, Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements of the VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, AIA, ADA and applicable local, state and federal regulations. This is 100% set aside for SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The NAICS Code is 541310 with the small business size standard of $4.5 million. The construction cost estimate is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Award will be to the A/E firm judged by the VA to be the best qualified for the work. All design criteria for the Veterans Affairs is available at www.va.gov/facmgt/. The selection criteria for this A/E contract shall include as a minimum (1) Experience in the type of work required (2) professional qualifications and experience of staff to be assigned to the project (3) ability to accomplish the work within required time frames (4) past performance as related to the quality of work, meeting schedules, and keeping within scope and budget. (See numbered note 24) Area of consideration is limited to a 150-mile radius from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home (Johnson City), TN 37684. Award is subject to the availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal. All interested, responsible and qualified business firms shall submit three (3) copies of SF 330 to the attention of Kerwin H. Fulton (90C), James H.
