- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport anticipates modifying contract N66604-05-C-3203 with L3 Communications, Electron Technologies, Inc., (formerly Boeing EDD) Torrance CA to implement a shielded gun design as part of the effort to improve the life and reliability of the 120 watt Q-Band Helix Traveling Wave Tube (TWT). A Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Completion type contract is the contract type. The period of performance will be seven months from the date of award. This is a sole source acquisition as the contractor is the only approved manufacturer of the TWT used in the Submarine High Data Rate (SubHDR) Mast.
