Description
CONTACT Mr. Jacques Wawa, ILS Manager, (732)532-1568, or Mr. Harry Chin, Electronics Engineer, (732) 532-8715. This is a market research survey to locate additional sources for spares for the AN/TMQ-41/41A/52 (MMS and MMS-Profiler) relating to NSNs: 6660-01-386-3906, 6660-01-468-3306 and 6660-01-479-1962. The MMS and MMS-P use a suite of sensors and MET data from communications satellites along with an advanced weather model to provide accurate MET data out to a range of 500km. They measure and trans mit MET conditions such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity, rate of precipitation, visibility, cloud height and cloud ceiling. All of these are required for precise targeting and terminal guidance. They enable artillery to have a greater probability of first round hit with indirect fire. For the first time, the artillery community has the capability of applying MET data along with the trajectory from the firing platform to the target area. The current sources for these syst ems components are Vaisala Inc. and Smiths Detection. Suppliers capable of furnishing any components or spares must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USA C-E LCMC, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-IEW-R-SN, Building 1201E, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. The response must include documentation such as test results, copy of purchase order if the supplier was a vendor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with a unit that will physically and functi onally interchangeable with the unit from the previous supplier. Successful supplier may be required to warrant that the item supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. For more information contact Mr. Jacques Waw a, (732)532-1568 or Mr. Harry Chin, (732)532-8715. The deadline for this response is January 31, 2007.
