- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order for the Co-Sponsorship to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) to conduct a workshop on cost-benefit analysis of noise control technologies. NAE will organize an information gathering workshop that will provide the resources, staffing, materials and supplies required to organize the workshop on cost benefit analysis of noise control technology in highway transportation. Additionally, NAE will document all of the workshop activities drafting a report on the workshop findings pertaining to the noise control technology. NAE is the only known source to conduct their workshop for the technology and engineering policy. They are the coordinators and stakeholders for the spectrum of highway transportation noise technology. Because they provide the workshop findings for their conferences they are the only known source for the services. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is January 12, 2007.
