Description
Provide professional architectural and engineering services necessary to accomplish the design for the ?Renovation of Psych Wards 3C and 4C of Bldg 131 (Implementation of this project also includes revisions to the adjacent B section of the building) at the VA Medical Center at North Chicago, IL. The Scope of work for the Psych Ward Renovation is as follows: Reconfiguration of the wards with private and semi-private bathrooms will require a complete revision of the floor plan (and all support systems). The intent of this project is to update these psychiatric wards to current VA patient privacy standards (remodeled space should also comply with VA space standards and ADA standards). A/E services under this contract include, but are not limited to the following: (1) Design development plans, three copies for review due in 30 calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed. (2) Three copies for review of the 90% drawings and one copy of the specifications and preliminary cost estimate, due in 60 calendar days after approval of the design development plans. (3) Working drawings and specifications due in 15 calendar days after approval of the 90% submittal. Drawings to be AutoCAD (no later than 2005) DWG files on CD-R disc and the specification sections in Microsoft Word (not later than Word 2003, SP2) on CD-R disc. Also, provide a reproducible set of drawings on 5 mil polyester film. (4) A cost estimate, three copies due with the working drawings and specifications. (5) Review and approve all submittals. Provide design support for all change orders (not including a change of construction contract scope). (6) Provide for four post bid meetings or job inspections (other than the final inspection) as requested by the Government. (7) Conduct a final inspection and deliver a report within ten days. (8) Incorporate installed variations and contract changes into the working drawings, and provide ?as-built? AutoCAD DWG files. All A/E firms within a 70 mile radius of the VA Medical Center at North Chicago, IL and who meet the requirements listed in this announcement, are invited to submit two (2) copies of the completed Standard Form (SF) 330 no later than noon on January 26, 2007. PLEASE NOTE: TWO copies of packages are to be sent to the attention of Elaine Rahn, Contracting Officer at the following address: VA Medical Center/GLAC, 5000 W. National Ave; Milwaukee, WI 53295-0005. NAICS code 541310 applies. This requirement is an open market procurement. No bid packages are available. The statement of work is included in this description; however, this is not a Request For Proposal (RFP). The only submission required in response to this announcement are two copies of an SF 330. The estimated construction cost for this project is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
