Description
The U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) is conducting market research to seek potential sources capable of overhauling 6V92 DDEC IV Detroit Diesel marine engines, including hang-on equipment, in accordance with Coast Guard specifications. The overhaul of these engines shall include disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, dyno testing, painting, preservation, packaging, and marking. Nationwide warranty support for a specified period shall also be required. The marine engine (one of a pair) is installed in the U.S. Coast Guard 47 FT' MLB. The Government's intention is to issue a fixed-price requirements contract for one base year and four option years. The overhaul must be completed by a certified Detroit Diesel repair facility GEOGRAPHICALLY LOCATED ON THE WEST COAST to facilitate support of West Coast units. Contractors shall also be required to store several engine sets at their facility for direct shipment to designated Coast Guard units upon request. Sources interested in responding to this notice must provide concise information specifically directed to the requirement stated herein. Concerns that respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet the requirements by submitting written documentation identifying: (1) historical data covering the repair of 6V92 engines for the Coast Guard; (2) validation from the OEM that they are an authorized repair facility; and (3) validation from the OEM that the potential source has the ability to purchase parts from the OEM on a continuing basis. Any and all information shall be submitted to Kelly Wyatt, Contract Specialist, via email (Kelly.A.Wyatt@uscg.mil) no later than 15 calendar days from the date of this notice. The government does not intend to pay for the information solicited.
