- VISN 19 Rocky Mountain Network intends to solicit sources to provide some or all of its requirements for blood products and related services to the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS), Denver VA Medical Center, Colorado. Supplies and services are required for a base year and 2 option years. Requirements shall include but are not limited to the supply of blood and blood components to ECHCS, provide credit for return of packed cells leukoreduced, platelets pherisis, and services in testing blood and blood components in accordance with FDA standards, and handling, packaging and delivering blood and blood components in accordance with FDA regulations. The VA contemplates either a single or multiple awards, with a single contractor providing all required blood products and reference lab services, or contractors providing a combination of products and services, such as Red Blood Cells Leukoreduced, Red Blood Cells, Fresh Frozen Plasma, and Cryoprecipitate products, and/or Platelets Apheresis Leukoreduced and tested for bacterial contamination, Irradiation Services, CMV testing services, and other requirements. Contractors should have capabilities of delivering the variety of supplies required, and providing services and supplies on an immediate and emergent basis (delivery within 2 hours). VISN 19 currently has contracts with four blood suppliers. This Announcement is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirement by providing a capability statement and qualifications which must contain specific information on supplying these types of products and services in accordance with FDA rules, regulations, and guidelines, in writing to this office no later than December 29, 2006. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone requests accepted.
