Description
The USDA, ARS, MSA, Southern Regional Research Center, New Orleans, Louisiana intends to procure a Multifunctional Scanner. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items identified below, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 2006-7B31-001 is being issued as an Invitation for Bid. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. Offerors are to provide a bid for the following: Equipment Specifications: The acquisition of this instrument will give us the opportunity to perform Differential Gel Electrophoresis (DIGE). DIGE is a technique for image documentation of large format 2D gels for proteomics analysis of differentially stained proteins. Required Features: (1) Able to scan 20cm x 40cm imaging plates. (2) Able to scan gels up to 24cm x 40cm in size. (3) Standard filters B390, Y520, O580, and R670 included. (4) User must be able to change emission filters easily and effortless. (5) User must be able to add emission filter sets for special applications. (6) Instrument must be capable of having up to four internal lasers. (7) Instrument must be easily upgradeable from one, two, three, or four lasers. (8) LD 670nm laser must be available for future upgrade. (9) Must utilize fast optics for rapid scanning. (10) Scanner footprint must not be larger than 940 x 556 x 380 cms. (11) Scanner must be capable of scanning Image plates, Fluorescent gels, and film. (12) Scanner must use separate sample stages for imaging plates and gels. (13) Available excitation wavelengths must be LD 473 nm, SHG 532 nm, LD 635 nm, LD 650 nm, and LD 670 nm. (14) Pixel resolution must be 25 um, 50 um, 100 um, or 200 um selectable. (15) Scanner must utilize USB 2.0 interface with either Macintosh or Windows computer. (16) Scanner must be able to generate a 16 bit files for 5 orders of magnitude dynamic range. All systems and components shall be provided with a one (1) year warranty from the date of installation. The warranty shall cover all system parts against manufacturing defect or failure during normal service. Warranty shall cover service labor and travel. Delivery of the unit by the instrument vendor must be within 30 days of award of contract. ALL RESPONSIBLE SOURCES MAY SUBMIT A BID FOR CONSIDERATION. Bid prices shall include all necessary labor, parts, materials, and transportation necessary to delivered FOB Destination a multifunctional scanner to USDA, ARS, MSA, SRRC, New Orleans, La. This contract incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. Offers are to include a 30 calendar day acceptance period. All bids are due by 2:00 (CST), January 3, 2007, at the USDA, ARS, MSA, SRRC, Acquisition Office, 1100 Robert E. Lee Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Delivery of the unit by the instrument vendor must be within 30 days of award of contract.
