- Description
- The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, will be issuing a Request for Quotations (RFQ) to acquire the development of technical specifications and conduct basic market research of uniform components for the National Park Service, United States Park Police. Specification development includes analyzing the salient characteristics/contents of the components and delivering the resulting written specifications. Market Research includes the identification of exact or like component items, identification of country of origin to assist with locating compliant Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 25.1 (Buy American Act) and/or 25.4 (Trade Agreements Act) suppliers, and estimation of prices/costs. The uniform components include approximately 35 items encompassing: footwear, headwear, shirts, sweaters, trousers, outerwear, emblems, and accessories. Upon award, the Government will provide samples of each of the uniform components from which the specifications are to be derived. The Government anticipates to award a firm-fixed-price Purchase Order using Commercial-Item procedures (FAR Part 12). In accordance with FAR 12.204(b), the RFQ may be issued sooner than 15 days after the publication of this notice and the response time for Quotations may be less than 30 days. The response date for Quotations will be no sooner than 1/12/07, but may be later depending on when the RFQ is issued. Please see due date for Quotations on the RFQ upon issuance. In order to prevent a potential conflict-of-interest and in accordance with FAR 9.5, VF Imagewear, Inc. and any of its subsidiaries, subcontractors, or suppliers, or any potential suppliers under National Park Service contract C3460060001 are excluded from submitting a Quotation under this RFQ. The solicitation and any amendments, if necessary, will be issued electronically, on the Department of the Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
