- The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Boulder City, NV, has a requirement for the machining of Thrust Collar and Runner and Jackscrew Button Hole on Unit A7 located at Hoover Dam, Boulder City, NV. Overview of the Work-The Statement of Work is based on initial inspection of the Unit A7 thrust bearing. Modification to the Statement of Work will be made if measurements indicate that a portion of the repairs is not necessary or additional repairs are required. Thrust Collar Work 1. Complete set of measurements in the "as-received" condition. 2. Machining and grinding to achieve tolerances required. 3. Final measurements, after all work is complete "as shipped" by vendor. 4. Hand sketches showing "as-received" and "as shipped" measurements due upon delivery of finished work. 5. AutoCAD drawing(s) showing "as-received" and "as shipped" measurements due upon delivery of finished work. Thrust Bearing Runner Work 1. Evaluate runner face for finish and flatness and need for finish grinding. Complete cotton ball test and any other test required. 2. Measurements and documentation of measurements of thrust runner in the "as-received" condition. 3. Machining and grinding runner top and bottom to achieve specifications for surface finish and parallel. (Requirements defined in drawing 54-B-122, except for modification of finish on final runner surface. Final finish is shown 7 micron or better on drawing; requirement in this statement of work is 12 micron finish or better.) 4. Final measurements after all work is complete "as shipped" by vendor. 5. AutoCAD drawing(s) showing "as-received" and "as shipped" measurements due upon delivery of finished work. Thrust Bearing Button (Plug) Work 1. Inspect and machine 8 button holes in 8 jackscrews. Hole shall be machined to accept load cell buttons. IT IS MANDATORY THAT THE WORK BE COMPLETED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF AWARD OF THE PURCHASE ORDER. THE ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE IS JANUARY 10, 2007, MAKING THE MANDATORY DELIVERY DATE BACK TO HOOVER DAM, FEBRUARY 12, 2007. The requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is set-aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 333611. The size standard is l,000 employees. Large businesses are encouraged to respond in the event that no responsive small businesses submit reasonable prices quotes. First priority for award will be to small businesses. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about December 19, 2006, and awarded on or about January 10, 2007; however, all dates in this announcement are subject to change. The RFQ will be issued via www.fedbizopps.gov. A Request for Quote is being issued to facilitate submittal of quotes through electonic commerce, and to view all applicable clauses and attachments. Vendors are reminded that they must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration to be considered for award. Vendors can register at www.ccr.gov.
