- NAICS Code: 811310 In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106-1(b) the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Risk Management Research Branch (NRMRL) in Cincinnati, OH seeks to award on a sole source basis to JEOL USA, Inc. of Peabody, MA for the purchase of preventive maintenance services for a JEOL Jem 1200 EX transmission electron microscope and a JSM 5800 LV scanning electron microscope. The period of performance shall be for one year from award date. NRMRL requires the preventive maintenance services for the two electron microscopes addressed above. The market research conducted by the EPA determined that JEOL, USA Inc. is uniquely qualified to perform these services. JEOL is the manufacturer of the microscopes and the only source that has access to the engineering and electronic specifications to ensure accurate operations of the microscopes; no other company has a similar level of information available to the service engineers. This procurement will be accomplished under FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition Procedures. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
