- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC FORWARD (WMEC 911), 270 FOOT ?B? CLASS MEDIUM ENDURANCE CUTTER. This solicitation is restricted to small businesses only. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, RFQ. The solicitation and specification will be issued on or about December 11, 2006. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. The work will be performed at the vessels homepier located at 4000 Coast Guard Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23703-2199. The performance period is for 14 calendar days, commencing on January 22, 2007. This work is such as, but not limited to: Resurface Flight Deck Surfaces All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
