Description
All interested parties are invited to participate in an Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robot System (AEODRS) Industry Day to be held on Wednesday, 17 January 2007 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Naval Heritage Center (U.S. Navy Memorial). The Naval Heritage Center is located at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20004-2608. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for the early involvement of industry, academia, and other Government agencies in the development of the AEODRS. The AEODRS is anticipated to be an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) or system of UGVs that will be used by Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) forces to counter the threat posed by unexploded ordnance (UXO) and improvised explosive devices (IED). The notional development strategy is a two-year Technology Development Phase followed by a two- to three-year System Development and Demonstration Phase, with initial production potentially occurring in 2013. The AEODRS is envisioned as being significantly advanced beyond the current state-of-the-market in order to operate effectively in the 2013 ? 2020 battlespace. Attendees are requested to register by providing their company/organization name, names of attendees, company/organization affiliation, address, telephone number, and e-mail address by 5 January 2007 to Mrs. Monica Finley Williams, e-mail monica.f.williams@navy.mil or Eddie Rogan at (301) 744-6677, edward.rogan@navy.mil. Also, for contractual issues please contact Eddie Rogan at (301) 744-6677, edward.rogan@navy.mil. Attendance at the AEODRS Industry Day is not a prerequisite for ultimately submitting any future proposals, however, it will provide a valuable opportunity for questions, answers, and industry input. No one-on-one meetings with Government representatives will be available on Industry Day. A plan for such meetings will be presented at Industry Day. All briefs and discussions will remain at the unclassified level. The tentative agenda is: 9:30 am - Check-in, 10:00 am - Introductory Remarks, 10:15 am - Joint Service EOD Robotics Overview; 10:45 am - AEODRS S pecifics and Q&A; 12:15 pm - Scheduling of One-on-One Government/Industry Meetings. The purpose of the AEODRS Industry Day is solely to offer interested parties early involvement in the potential development of the AEODRS. This announcement is for information only, does not constitute an invitation for bid or Request for Proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a contract or order. The Government will not pay for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this announcement nor will the government return any data provided.
