Description
This is a notice of our intent to prequalify General Contractors for repair and alteration projects for postal facilities in the North Mississippi Area. Contractor Qualification Statements will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer?s staff. Primary factors will be considered are: firm?s background, indefinite quantity contract experience, financial stability, capacity to perform, timely completion history, references, previous clients, bonding capacity and safety. Applications will be evaluated by the USPS committee, and all General Contractor?s will be advised within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalifications status. General Contractor?s selected as being the most qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Work that may be involved within the scope of this Indefinite Quantity Construction Contract includes minor alterations, repairs, improvements and maintenance work in US Postal Service owned and/or leased facilities. Example of interior work could be: painting; installing stud/gypsum board walls, installing lockboxes; relocating HVAC ducts or electrical outlets; plaster repairs; wood refinishing; floor replacement; etc. Examples of exterior work could involve: asphalt/pavement/concrete paving; sidewalks; curb and gutter; excavation; waterproofing; roofing; decking; exterior painting; security fencing; landscaping, etc. The total quantity of work that will be required under this contract is indefinite. Small, minority-owned, and women-owned subcontracting participation is encouraged. USPS subcontracting goals for this contract are minimums of 40% for small businesses (less than 500 employees), 10% for minority-owned businesses and 7% for women-owned businesses in accordance with solicitation Section H.20. Contractors must be state licensed. COST RANGE: The contract essentially is a unit price standard type arrangement for a two year period with three 1-yr. renewal options. Performance and payment bonds will be required from the successful offeror. (Proposal guarantee/bid bonds are not required) The contract amount may be increased by modification up to an amount not to exceed $9,500,000 and an appropriate increase in bond amounts. The MINIMUM contract value is $10,000. Interested General Contractors that meet the minimum criteria stated above may obtain a Contractor Prequalification Statement by contacting Leslie L.
