- Description
- The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Geological Hazards Program conducts basic and applied research, gathers long term data, operated monitoring networks, performs unique technical assessments, then disseminates its findings to the public in order to provide better emergency response and risk identification. The USGS is proposing to enter into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, (SFPUC) on a scientific and technical study that will assist SFPUC to seismically retrofit its water supply system. Among other things the research will address the geometry and rate of activity of known or suspected faults in the Bay area. Data developed will be made available to USGS seismic datasets at the completion of the study. This is not a procurement, the partners in a CRADAs contribute funds, equipment and in-kind services to the research effort.
