- The United States Geological Survey, (USGS) National Research Program (NRP) in the Hydrological Sciences conducts fundamental and applied research on complex hydrologic problems to develop new techniques and methodologies that can support integrated science solutions. USGS NRP is entering into a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA) with Chevron Energy Technology Company to develop analytical tools that combine X-ray diffraction and chemical methods for quantitative analysis and characterization of minerals in shales and in related rocks. This is not a procurement, the partners in a CRADAs contribute funds, equipment and in-kind services to the research effort. For more information on the science effort contact Dennis D.
