- The Forest Service has a requirement for a service contract that will require a selected individual to provide services as a Technical Editor. This position requires an individual to be responsible to perform various editorial duties for the Science Delivery Group including but not limited to review of manuscripts, tracking manuscripts, communicating with authors, and oversight of other editors? work (preparing packages for mailing, checking editorial work for quality, and soliciting evaluations form authors). Work will be performed as needed for up to 8 hours per day and be available to perform the duties of this position Monday through Friday. Occasional travel may be required, at Government expense, to consult with authors or participate in Group planning and team building sessions. The individual selected must live within a 50 mile radius of the Asheville area to be able to commute to the Southern Research Station on a daily basis.
