- This notice of intent is from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to contract with the Canadian Commercial Corporation with subcontract to Neptec Design Group, LTD at 302 Legget Dr, Ste 202, Ottawa Ontario, Canada K2K 1Y5 on an other than full and open competitive basis. The contractor shall provide the design, testing and delivery of a laser-based sensor and real-time pose estimation software. The sensor/software system shall be designed to be fully compatible with existing test equipment and electrical, software and mechanical interfaces already developed for the FREND program and NRLs Proximity Operations Testbed. The combined sensor and software system will provide 3D images and 6 degree-of-freedom pose estimation at a rate of at least 5 Hz. The sensor field-of-view will be at least 40 deg. The sensor design shall provide scanned laser time-of-flight imaging for ranges greater that 10m and scanned laser triangulation imaging for ranges of less than 10m. The required delivery is no later than 6 months after date of contract award. This is not a solicitation.
