- Solicitation: VA-528-07-RQ-0043 Title: Medical Billing NAICS Code: 541219 (Billing Services) Small Business Level: $7.5 million Sources Sought for the Following: VISN 2 of the VA Healthcare System (upstate New York) has a need for remote medical billing services as detailed below. This is a sources sought notice for an award anticipated to be a GSA or Small Business set-aside. Any potential contractor able to provide the services described below who has an established GSA contract and/or is a certified small business is encouraged to respond to Mr. Jason V White, Contracting Officer, VA Western New York Healthcare System, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo NY 14215. 716-862-6004. Jason.White@Va.gov. Contractor shall provide billing services (preparation of UB-92s and HCFA 1500 billing claims). Billing tasks to be performed include preparation of third party reimbursable billing claims, in accordance with insurance health care industry standards and VA guidelines, for outpatient medical services and prescriptions. VISN 2 will send the contractor written hard copy lists of veterans with billable insurance in receipt of outpatient medical care. List will include veteran's name, social security number, and dates of service and diagnosis/procedure codes to be used. Contractor will review potential claims for appropriate, active insurance coverage, ensuring that duplicate claims are not generated and all claims will be completed and authorized in accordance with VA guidelines and VISN 2 standard operating procedures. Bills will be generated by the Contractor from a remote location and will be transmitted electronically or queued to print at the VISN revenue-billing center. All performance and evaluation criteria will be performed remotely by VISN 2. Further details will be made available upon solicitation under the above RFQ number. Any and all details specified in this notice are subject to change upon opening of the RFQ. This solicitation will include a base year and may include as many as 4 (four) option years.
