- Amendment 1 and Geotechnical report for the following work is being uploaded for retrieval in pdf format. Construction to repair landslide at Cat Gap Road, Rabun County, Georgia under emergency watershed protection program. Major items of work consists of mobilization/demobilization, clearing and grubbing, structure removal, pollution control, seeding and mulching, common excavation, rock excavation, earthfill, installation of corrugated metal pipe (24? ID), rock riprap, grouted rock riprap, chain link fence, erosion control blanket, graded aggregate base, asphaltic concrete pavement, guardrail, permanent soil nail wall, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall, precast concrete drainage structures, select backfill, and contractor quality control, and other items incidental to the work. The solicitation is for full and open competition and is unrestricted under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The duration of the project is 159 calendar days after notice to proceed. The following key personnel are required for the project: Dedicated superintendent, qualified surveyor, qualified quality control employee (Full time inspector) qualified blasting personnel, qualified nozzle operator for shotcrete, qualified drilling operators, qualified quality control supervisory engineer for nailed/ground anchor walls, qualified mechanically stabilized earth wall installers for construction of MSE wall, and qualified first-aid employee for each foreman?s work crew. The solicitation will be available approximately 15 days after this notice appears in FedBizOpps (November 3, 2006). You must use FedBizOpps to download the solicitation if you desire a copy. A site showing is scheduled for November 16, 2006 at 9:30 AM. All interested bidders should plan to meet at the Rabun County Courthouse located at 25 Courthouse Square, Clayton, Georgia 30525. Bid opening date is December 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Federal Building, Room 250, 355 E. Hancock Avenue in Athens, Georgia 30601 for receipt of sealed bids in hardcopy original. Copies will be considered nonresponsive. NRCS is operating under a Continuing Resolution. This solicitation is being issued with anticipated use of funds to be allocated in Fiscal Year 07; therefore, FAR Clause 52.232-18 is applicable. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. Range $500,000 - $1,000,000 Bid Bond Required ? Original only for 20% of amount bid.
