- AMENDMENT A01, ISSUED 11/17/2006: ATTACHED IS THE MISSING TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION SECTION 08100 METAL DOOR & FRAMES AND THE REVISED VERSION OF SECTION 15083 PIPE INSULATION. HVAC REPLACEMENT / UPGRADES, Covington, KY 41011 RE-ADVERTISEMENT, DRAWINGS & SPECIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN UPDATED. SCOPE: The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary to replace/upgrade the existing HVAC system serving the approximately 70,000 SF Main Post Office at Covington, KY, in accordance with USPS approved specifications and drawings. Base bid work includes replacing all of the existing air handlers and associated air distribution; replacing the existing steam boilers, converters, hot water pumps and piping; replacing the existing chilled water pumps and piping; installation of new DDC controls and replacing the remaining original windows. The replacement of the air handling units and modifications to the air distribution system will be phased in order to minimize downtime. The cooling plant will be modified during the heating season, while the heating plant will be replaced during the cooling season. The estimated cost of the project is between $1,800,000 and $2,000,000 with construction completion within 540 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. Contractors must have a minimum of three (3) years total experience in HVAC upgrades and replacements projects. Award will be based the minimum requirements in this solicitation. Failure to comply with the minimum requirements may be cause for disqualification. License requirement: company must possess a valid contractor?s license or provide a copy of the application to obtain such license in the state named in this solicitation. Minimum years in business: company must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in this type of work. For newly established companies, experience and past performance of key personnel on similar projects may be considered towards meeting the three year minimum requirement. Past performance: company must have completed or ongoing two similar projects in scope, cost & size within the past three years. Participation of minority and woman-owned business is encouraged. A PRE PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SITE (AT THE POST OFFICE LOBBY) ON THURS, 11/16/2006, @10:00 A.M., ATTENDANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
