Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) webpage located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is seeking sources for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) or automatically assembling boards and parts (chips) into a final assembly. The contract shall provide engineering support and services that include the fabrication of prototype electronics assemblies, subassemblies, and design support. The contractor must be able to do the following: 1. Take specifications and design files provided by technical department and be able to build prototype sub-system assemblies; 2. Perform routine testing on prototype sub-assemblies, such as ?bed-of-nails? testing; 3. Coordinate on sub-assembly design and assembly issues to identify improved prototype design; review designs for Design For Manufacturing (DFM) ;4. Provide a small quantity of units for use in field demonstration and gun-fire tests; 5. Must be IPC-610 compliant. 6. Must have the capability to reliably manufacture PCBs with trace widths as small as 0.003 inches, and spacing as small as 0.003 inches.;7. Must have capability to reliably manufacture PCBs with 2 to 20 layers; 8. Must have capability to reliably manufacture PCBs with blind and/or buried vias; 9.Must have capability to reliably manufacture PCBs with minimum drill hole sizes less than or equal to 0.006 inches; 10. Must have the capability to automatically assemble fine-pitch (less than or equal to 0.8mm) components.; 11. Must have the capability to verify advanced package (e.g. Ball Grid Array) placement through X-ray inspection, or other such means; 12. Must support rapid turn around (1 week) for quick turn research and development efforts; 13. Must provide spare parts to technical dept. Please focus the materials that you provide to demonstrate your ability to understand and meet the needs identified in enclosure (1). Providing information that is unrelated to the described program may be interpreted as an inability to understand the requirement.
