- The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract for Fabrication and Installation of New Gates at Montgomery Locks and Dam, Ohio River, Monaca, Pennsylvania. The work will involve the accelerated fabrication, delivery and installation of two vertical lift dam gates for Montgomery Locks and Dam, Ohio River. The gates will be welded structural steel fabrications weighing in excess of 100 tons each. The work will also include repairs and refurbishment of existing gate lifting machinery and controls and fabrication of new gate hoisting chains. The contract will include an awardable option for fabrication, delivery and installation of a third gate. The period of performance will be 240 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Magnitude of the project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Funds are not presently available for this acquisition. No contract award will be made until appropriated funds are available. Pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program established by Pub lic Law 100-656, Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988 , this procurement will be unrestricted and any resulting award will be made pursuant to the above program. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued approximately 12/04/2006 on-lin e only through FedTeDS; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation through FedTeDS at http://www.fedteds.gov.
