Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to procure a Landbased Airconditioner (AC) to replace the existing A/M32C-17, which is a 25-ton diesel air conditioner. The new landbased AC shall be a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or modified COTS item. The AC shall adhere to national standards as documented in SAE AS8090, utilize state-of-the-art technology, and be transportable in military aircraft (C-5, C-17 and C-130). The AC shall provide conditioned air as follows: 45 deg F, 100 - 410 ppm @ 0-3 psig. The AC shall operate in ambient temperatures up to 140 deg F. The AC shall use environmentally friendly Freon, and shall be mounted on a 4 wheel trailer capable of being towed over paved and gravel road surfaces. As required for any typical Navy Support Equipment, the AC shall be highly reliable, maintainable, and supportable. It shall be capable of meeting environmental, EMI and mobility requirements. Human factors engineering shall be utilized to the greatest extent possible to make the new AC a user friendly piece of SE. It is anticipated that the contract will be firm-fixed price, and the government intends to procure 5 pilot production units and the associated technical and logistics data and training as part of the basic quantity. The pilot production units are to be used for pre-production testing and government suitability and supportability evaluation/approval testing. There will be three one year option periods for a total of up to 150 production units. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil.
