- Description: Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Schiebel Technology, Inc., 70 Main St., Suite 11, Warrenton, VA 20186-3346 for 16 Schiebel Miniature Mine Detectors (MIMID). The MIMID is a lightweight, compact, and collapsible metal detector that is capable of detecting buried ordnance and mines with minimal metal content. The procurement of the MIMID is to provide training assets to Mojave Viper, Twentynine Palms, CA. The sole source procurement is pursuant to FAR 13.106-1 (b). This procurement will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. North American Classification System Code (NAICS) 334519 applies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received by November 24, 2006 NLT 2:00pm EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
