Description
MARKET RESEARCH. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The United States Marine Corps has a requirement for a 7.62 mm remote weapon station for the loader?s position in the M1A1 Main Battle Tank. The remote weapon station will enable the loader to engage targets will under armor. Responses to this request should be for an Off the Shelf solution. It is important to note to any prospective vendor that the USMC is not interested in any development of the remote weapon station. The USMC interest extends to the mounting/integration of the remote weapon station on and into the M1A1. The loader?s 7.62 mm remote weapon station should have the following capabilities: a. Low silhouette. b. Ammunition capacity of at least 400 rounds. c. Azimuth travel of 150 degrees. d. Elevation travel of -20 degrees to +60 degrees. e. Minimum of a day camera, upgradeable with an uncooled thermal sight. f. Integrated display and control module. g. Backup manual operation for emergency mode. h. Operate from vehicle power of 18 to 30 volts DC. i. Withstand the tactical environments of the M1A1 tank. All vendors having the capability of meeting these requirements are requested to submit copies of relevant documentation in response to this Request for Information at no cost to the Government. Written responses should be submitted not later than close of business 5 December 2006. Firms should also include literature, brochures, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. The submission of the product information should not be construed as a commitment to procure equipment. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. No telephonic responses will be accepted. Reponses should be submitted to the contact person listed above at Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN CT6, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134.
