- The National Park Service (NPS) will issue a Prospectus soliciting proposals for a concession contract to provide for Lodging, Food & Beverage, Retail, and Other Services at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon within Grand Canyon National Park. The Prospectus explains the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract. The Director, pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is not a preferred offeror for the contract. The National Park Service will issue the Prospectus on November 3, 2006, under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2007. Any proposal, including those of the existing concessioners, must be received by the Acting Chief of Concessions, Intermountain Region, National Park Service, 12795 West Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado 80228 by the deadline date in order to be evaluated and considered for award of the concession contract. The Prospectus is also available at the NPS website at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/Prospectus.cfm. All updates to the Prospectus will also be posted on this website, as they become available. Hard copies are available upon request for a printing cost recovery charge. The fee is $35 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $30 per copy if picked up in person. Persons interested in obtaining a Prospectus should mail or bring in person a check or money order (no cash sales) made payable to the NPS. You must include a business address (no post office box) and telephone number to receive a Federal Express package. For personal pick up, contact Tom Williamson, Acting Chief of Concessions, Intermountain Region, NPS, 12795 West Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado 80228 or at telephone number (303) 969-2582, during business hours of 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your Prospectus from the website, we recommend that you advise Laura Shearin, Concessions Management Specialist, Concessions, Grand Canyon National Park, NPS, (928) 226-0169 or e-mail: laura_shearin@nps.gov of your interest so your contact information can be placed on a mailing list to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the Prospectus. Those receiving hard copy or who have been placed on the mailing list will be provided with any additional information specific to the Prospectus in writing. The same information will also be posted to the above mentioned website. A site visit was held October 12, 2006 in order to allow interested parties an opportunity to see existing facilities while they are open.
