- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting & General Services Office in Portland, OR have a requirement at the Carlsbad Fish & Wildlife Office, for a 2007 Peregrine Falcon Monitoring on the Channel Islands, off the coast of California. The monitoring covers comprehensive observations of known peregrine falcons nest sites, and survey of historic and potential nest sites during the 2007 nesting season on all the Channel Islands (San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Anacapa, Santa Barbara, Santa Catalina, San Nicolas, and San Clemente). Peregrine falcons will be observed at their nest sites during the nesting season (01 January -15 June) to determine: a) nest site occupancy, b) nesting chronology, and c) reproductive success (failure of nesting attempt, or number and sex of young fledged per nest site). This effort will also include the collection of nest contents including eggshell fragments, addled eggs, and prey remains. Selection process is "Best Value" (Price, Experience & Past Performance).
