- Corrosion Resisting Steel Precipitation Hardening, Weldable to meet the following Specifications: 6.505 (+/- .005) inch O.D. X 6.045(+/- .005) inch I.D. X 133.25 Inch (+.50/-.00) Length. .010 Maximum wall thickness variation .225/.235 Chemical Comp osition to meet Ministry of Defence, Defence Standard 95-15/2 Table A. Mechanical propertities to meet Ministry of Defence, Defence Standard 95-15/2 Table C, Condition S or S1, (softened). Material must be heat treated to meet mechanical propertities of Ministry Defence, Defence Standard 95-15/2 Table C OA-540. Grain flow to be parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube with less than 15 degree grainflow twist for the entire length of the tube. Straightness not to exceed .100 end to end, and not to ex ceed .020 in any 24 inch length. Surface roughness , 250 micro finish all over and free nicks, scratches, gouges, and score marks. All tubes shall have the material heat code metal stamped on face of the thick end. Drawing required: 922423, sheet 1 of 1 , revision D dated 10/20/06. Although this material specification was not written for tubing, the chemical composition and the mechanical propertities is what creates the need to use the specification for weldable Chromium-Nickel-Molybdenum precipitation hardening corrosion resisting steel. This will be awarded as a three year, firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ)Contract. It has a minimum qty of 660 each and a maximum quantity of 1400 each. This solicitation will be awarded based on a Best Value analysis. This solicitation is Subject to Availability of Funds. Approximate issue date is 3 November 2006, with a closing date of approximately 30 days from issue. Once issue, copies of the solictation will be available for download from the Army Single Face to Industry website at https://acquisition.army.mil. It wil l be the responsibility of the contractors to check the website for the issuing and any changes to the solicitation. The proposed contract is unrestricted. Buy American Act will apply. Mill Test Reports will be required with each shipment. This is a DO -A5 rated under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS).
