Description
The US Army TACOM - Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce in support of the US Army Research Development Engineering Command ??? Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC) is seeking sources for research & development and engineering services for the entire MAAWS recoilless weapon system. Additional contractor engineering research, design & development, as well as engineering service support for the MAAWS weapon system and all related ammunition will be necessary to ensure the future success of the MAAWS weapon system. A thorough understanding of the MAAWS recoilless weapon system as well as direct access to manufacturing methods will be necessary for the R&D efforts. The required R&D and engineering support includes but is not limited to technical and design reviews, technical evaluation, operational analysis, aeroballistics engineering support, fusing, warhead engineering, propulsion technology, failure analysis, functional testing and engineering support services. The current MAAWS program is the Non- Developmental Item (NDI) acquisition of the Saab Bofors Dynamics Carl Gustaf 84mm recoilless rifle system. The U.S. Government does not own data rights to the system which consists of the M3 Carl Gustaf System and family of munitions. Because the Government does not own data rights to the weapon, no technical data is available through the U.S. Government. Potential offerors may inquire with Saab Bofors Dynamics, Karlskoga, Sweden on the potential availability of such technical data. In order to meet these needs, the US Army intends to solicit, negotiate and award a task order contract. All interested contractors are encouraged to submit a response to this notice. The respondent should demonstrate the ability to meet the Government???s required support needs as stated above. The complete requirements will be included in the Statement of Work (SOW). All responses must include company name, address, POC, phone number, fax number, email address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number and CAGE code. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration at http://www.ccr.dlis.dla.mil/ccr/scripts/index.html. All responses must be received no later than 30 days from the date of publication of this notice. No telephonic responses shall be accepted. All responses shall be unclassified. All responses shall be submitted electronically to Mary Lou Desseaux, Contract Specialist at mdess@pica.army.mil This is a sources sought notice for planning purposes only. This is not a solicitation and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Market Survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The information you provide shall only be used by the U.S. Army in developing its acquisition approach for Engineering, Technical, and Manufacturing Services in Support of the Munitions Systems and Technology Directorate.
