- NETL-Albany is responsible for assessing and improving the performance of materials in the severe, high-temperature environments typical of fossil fuel power plants and other energy-generating systems and for generating information to help meet its customer???s needs. NETL-Albany specializes in life cycle research starting with the formulation, melting, production of test specimens, and/or characterization of high-performance metals, alloys, and ceramics; casting, fabrication, and prototype development; wear, corrosion, and performance testing; and the recycle and remediation of waste streams associated with fossil fuel power plants and other energy-generating systems. The Service Provider shall sustain the current research and laboratory capabilities, continuously update the skills and expertise of the staff, and perform all stated requirements in a manner that will satisfy the rigors of the scientific method in accordance with any resulting Contract or Letter of Obligation and attachments threto, including the Performance Work Statement.
