- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract on a sole source basis with Alliant Tech Systems Division, Clearwater, Florida for the retrofitting and production break in of the Dynamic Blanking enhancement into existing AN/AAR-47(V) 2 sensors for use on USAF C-130 aircraft. The value of this contract will be approximately $2,000,000. This action will be a firm fixed price modification to contract N00019-98-C-0006 with Alliant Tech Systems. As the sole designer and manufacturer of the AN/AAR-47(V) 2, Alliant Tech Systems is the only firm that possesses the engineering data, manufacturing capability and knowledge of the AAR-47 design necessary to perform these retrofits in the time frames required to support USAF C-130 operations in the Government War on Terror.
