- The US Army at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ intends to make an award on a restricted competition basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-3. Competition for this possible procurement is restricted to domestic (US and Canada) sources only. The 155mm Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) comprises two propelling charges. The M231 charges are used at zones 1 and 2, and the M232A1 charges are used at zones 3 and higher. The procurement action announced herein is for the PAP7993 gun propellant for production scheduled for FY07(Fiscal Year 2007) and FY08 (if the Option is exercised). Basic Requirement: Approximate-800,000lbs of PAP7993 Granular Propellant for M231 MACS (Modular Artillery Charge System) Propelling Charges (450,000 lbs); Approximate OPTION Quantity (if exercised)-1,022.916lbs of PAP7993 Granular Propellant for M231 MACS (Modular Artillery Charge System) Propelling Charges.
