- Qualified parties are invited to respond to this Presolicitation Notice for sound attenuation services at indoor and outdoor firing ranges. There are two indoor ranges and two outdoor ranges located in Laurel, Maryland. Services will be performed on-site and must be by contractor personnel possessing U.S. citizenship. All installed materials must comply with the Buy American Act. The contractor is to reduce the reverberation time by the installation of sound attenuation materials and to minimize gun fire noise transfer inside and outside the Ranges. The solicitation will be issued in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded. The anticipated period of performance will be from January 1, 2007 through September 30, 2007. This requirement is 100% set aside for small business. The applicable NAICS code is 238310 Drywall and Insulation Contractors with a size standard of $13.0 million. HOW TO ACQUIRE A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. The USSS anticipates issuing the solicitation at this web site, FedBizOpps.gov, on or about November 17, 2006. The solicitation will contain the details of the requirement, instructions for submitting a quote, and how the quotes will be evaluated.
