- This project consists of but is not limited to culvert replacements, additional culvert installations, ditch reconstruction, brushing, road widening and minor fill stabilization. To reach the project site take I-5 to exit 230 at Burlington, WA, follow State route 20 east to MP 82, turn left onto Forest Hwy 11 (Baker Lake Road) to MP 17.7,turn left onto FS Road 1130 and follow to MP 3.9 the beginning of the project. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is during the winter months of 2006. Estimated start work is approx spring 2007. The Government's estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Bonding will be required for this project. Interested parties can download a copy of the solicitation from this website when available. A planholder's list when available will be posted on the Western Washington Area Acquisition website, http://www.fs.fed/us/gpnf/purchasing. BAKER RANGER DISTRICT OFFICE LOCATED AT 810 STATE HIGHWAY 20 (LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF STATE ROUTE 9 AND STATE ROUTE 20) IN SEDRO WOOLLEY, WA. THE PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS WILL GATHER AT THE MT. BAKER RANGER DISTRICT OFFICE AND THEN TRAVEL TO THE PROJECT SITE TO VIEW THE PROPOSED PROJECT. ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS UNABLE TO ATTEND THIS MEETING CAN STOP BY THE MT. BAKER RANGER DISTRICT OFFICE AND RECEIVE A MAP SHOWING THE AREA OF PROPOSED WORK. (Note: This is only a prebid show me trip to show the location of the planned project. No drawings will be distributed at this trip) This project is funded by Title II of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 where funds are paid to counties with federal land for use on roads and schools. Offers will be evaluated on the basis of the benefit to the Local Community (in this case, Whatcom County). This evaluation factor is slightly more important than cost or price.
