- The Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking comments on a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for the competitive selection of a management and operating (M&O) contractor for the Savannah River Site (SRS), a 300-square mile DOE industrial facility located in Aiken, Allendale, and Barnwell Counties in South Carolina. SRS is dedicated to environmental management cleanup, providing capability for supporting the enduring nuclear weapons stockpile and processing, and storing nuclear materials in support of the U.S. nuclear non-proliferation efforts. The draft RFP comment period will be open through December 8, 2006. The RFP, to be issued on a full and open basis, will seek offerors with the capability to manage complex technical and scientific programs, a research and development laboratory, and to achieve excellent and safe operations and management performance. The draft RFP is available below. A pre-solicitation conference and site tour will be offered to interested parties during the comment period. Specific registration information for both the pre-solicitation conference and site tour will be posted separately on the DOE-SR acquisition website. Questions related to the draft RFP should be submitted electronically through the ???Submit Questions??? feature of the Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS). Responses to questions and other information about the draft RFP will also be posted to this site and the information library website at http://professionals.pr.doe.gov/srs/.
