- Marine Corps System Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), is issuing this Sources Sought notice to identify potential sources capable of providing realistic mock weapons that serve as minor training devices (MTD?s) at various Marine Corps installations around the world. MTDs are defined as equipment that is designed (or modified) exclusively for training purposes. The Marine Corps has an annual requirement for procurement of MTDs. A Request for Information (RFI) was posted 08 August 2006. These training devices must be realistic in size, shape and color (no solid red, blue, etc.) and should be made of materials that would allow repeated exposure to inclement weather or submersion in water. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary services, supplies, and FOB Destination delivery to the installations. sources capable of providing minor training devices (MTDs). PM TRASYS plans to acquire MTDs as a Non-Developmental Item (NDI) acquisition(s).the MTD will consist of (1) M16A2 Rifle, (2) AK 47 Rifle, (3) RPG7, (4) RPK Gun, (5) SVD Rifle, (6) PM50 Pistol, (7) Holster for PM 50 Pistol, (8) POMZ. The vendor will be tasked to supply the following: Mock M16A2 Rifle full scale three dimensional plastic modified barrel Use for drill and ceremony instructions Physical training and demonstration Mock AK 47 Rifle three dimensional static plastic Used for classroom training or field recognition Mock RPG7 Grenade three dimensional plastic anti tank grenade launcher Used for classroom training or field recognition Mock RPK Gun three dimensional static plastic Used for classroom training or field recognition Mock SVD Rifle three dimensional plastic Used for classroom training or field recognition Mock PM 50 Rifle three dimensional static plastic Used for classroom training or field recognition Mock Holster for PM 50 Rifle Mock POMZ Mine three dimensional plastic facsimile foreign antitank and grenades and mines Used for classroom training or field recognition This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately.
