Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc., Corporate Office, 2525 McGaw Avenue, Irvine, CA 92614, for trisodium citrate for continious renal replacement therapy. The vendor must make specialty compound IV admixtures per VAPHS specifications on a per order basis. These compound solutions that are made per individual order are only available through Central Admixture Pharmacy, Inc. VAPHS requires a 0% tolerance error rate for these compounded IV admixtures. The VAPHS requires a vendor who is fully compliant with new USP Chaper 797 standards for compounding "high-risk" sterile products. The vendor must be FDA approved to produce trisodium citrate solution. The vendor must meet or exceed all applicable JCAHO guidelines. The vendor will: provide regular quality assurance reports: emloy highly experienced, customer-orented admixture pharmacist; have monitored and controlled clean room conditions; possess detailed protocols for each admixture process; provide validations for pyrogen assay, mircobial growth, stability, and aseptic fill technique; release tests and finish inspection protocols and provide environmental particulate and bioburden monitoring. Orders will be delivered next day by courier. Estimate usage is 2100- 3 liter bags per year.
