Description
This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website located at http://www.fbo.gov, the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website located at http://www.neco.navy.mil, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division Acquisition website at http://www.crane.navy.mil/supply/homepage.htm. FBO is the primary point of entry to be used when accessing synopses and solicitations from the World Wide Web. However, the NECO webpage as well as the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division Acquisition webpage serve as alternatives if the FBO website is unavailable. The Government will enter into a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Ballistic Protection Systems (Floor Armor), built to Protective Materials Company part number 7634932-1. This requirement will be negotiated on a sole source basis with The Protective Group Inc, doing business as Protective Materials Company (located in Miami Lakes, Florida) in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements?. The Government requirement is for a minimum/maximum quantity of 20/108 sets of Ballistic Protection Systems. Protective Materials Company must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database, located at www.ccr.gov, as well as the Joint Certification Program, located at www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp. The Ballistic Protection Systems are to be delivered FOB Destination. Initial inspection of the Ballistic Protection Systems shall be conducted at source. Final inspection and acceptance will be at destination. The solicitation will be available for download on or about November 13, 2006 at the three websites listed above. It must be noted that the contracting office will not mail hard copies of the solicitation.
