- The U. S. Census Bureau intends to conduct a full and open competition for the 2010 Census Communications Campaign contract. The objective is to seek a contractor that will create, produce and implement an integrated marketing and communications campaign to meet the communications goals of the 2010 Census. The Contractor will use an appropriate mix of communications tools. The communications strategy will be integrated with the Census Bureau decennial census operations, partnership outreach and internal public relations activities to ensure that consistent messages are delivered seamlessly at every stage of the process. To assist us in accomplishing this objective, we have issued a draft solicitation and seek comments from interested sources, who believe they are able to provide the support. The draft solicitation is posted on the 2010 Census Communications Campaign Web site, at www.census.gov/procur/www/2010communications/. All interested sources that feel they would be interested in this draft solicitation and have comments on the document, are invited to submit questions and/or comments by email to: acq.2010.comm.@census.gov on or before November 16, 2006, at 3:00 PM(EST). Answers to questions and comments will be posted on the 2010 Census Communications Web site no later than Thursday, November 30, 2006. The final Request for Proposals is expected to be issued on or about January 16, 2006, at the 2010 Census Communications Web site and the Federal Business Opportunities Web site (www.fedbizopps.gov/). The receipt date for proposals will be included in the final RFP. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the 2010 Census Communications Web site to ensure access to the most current information available on this procurement.
