Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions submitted by potential offerors. Q1. Technical Factor B and associated sentence in the Description: Question: The unit we would like to propose will not conduct direct testing of the functions listed, but rather indirect testing of these functions, through electrical control. Is this an acceptable means, so long as the user is provided with enough information to ascertain the proper functioning of these items? We know of no electronic shifter that directly controls these functions. RESPONSE: This is considered an acceptable means. Q2. Technical Factor C and associated sentence in the Description: Question: The Voltage is whatever the voltage the vehicle is putting out. There is no control over this parameter. If the system in the vehicle is over or under, it is what it is and the equipment on the vehicle must operate at that voltage, therefore we do not verify this. We do not directly monitor and display ECU Amps and Ohms parameters, but use LED displays to indicate this information. The patented technology tests the solenoids during operation and the user is not required to monitor or measure these specifications. Is this acceptable RESPONSE: Main vehicle power is 24VDC. Transmission components operate at 12VDC. Tester must NOT allow/provide 24V onto transmission systems. Self test must provide for indication of proper operation of tester. Vehicle power accuracy is NOT a responsibility of the test system. Accurate readings of transmission components is however a responsibility of the test system. LED displays are NOT considered acceptable means of verifying accuracy of transmission components. The user requires the capability of verifying and displaying these parameters. The response date and time remains unchanged. All proposals must be submitted to the following address: Commanding General, marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Ms. Wendy Stevenson, CTQ3WS, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134-6050, or electronically at wendy.stevenson@usmc.mil no later than 2:00 PM local standard time, October 19, 2006.
