Description
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for technical support to pursue research and development (R&D) aimed at solutions of current and future Navy problems in the fields of combustion, fire extinguishment, damage control and atmospheric hazards. The work involves engineering, design, development, administrative, logistical and construction engineering special project support. A Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) type of contract is contemplated. The anticipated period of performance will be 12 months for the base contract with 4 options. Each option, if exercised, shall have a period of performance of 12 months. The anticipated level of effort (LOE) is 11,970 hours for the base contract and 11,970 hours for each option, if exercised. The incumbent contractor is Geo Centers Inc, 7 Wells Avenue, Newton Center, MA 02459. The solicitation will close approximately 30 days after issuance of the Request For Proposal (RFP). A detailed solicitation and Statement of Work will be posted on NRLs website at http://heron.nrl.navy.mil/contracts/listrfp.htm NRL utilizes Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to RFPs. This solicitation and any amendments will be available via the Internet at the URL address cited above. Paper copies of the RFP will not be provided. All EIT supplies and services provided under any resultant contract must comply with the applicable accessibility standards issued by the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board at 36 CFR part 1194 (see FAR Subpart 39.2). Any resultant contract will be DO rated under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS). An original and 2 copies of the offerors proposal shall be received on or before the response date and time noted in the RFP. The package should be marked with the solicitation number, due date and time. The U.S. postal Service continues to irradiate letters, flats, Express and Priority Mail with stamps for postage and other packages with stamps for postage destined to government agencies in ZIP Code ranges 202 through 205. Due to potential delays in receiving mail, offerors are encouraged to use alternatives to mail when submitting proposals.
