- Q--The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service is soliciting offers from interested contractors in providing area-wide reference laboratory and pathology services for 15 service units of the Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service. Interested laboratories shall be Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA of 1988) certified to provide a full range of clinical, microbiology, and anatomic pathology testing services for eight hospital and seven health centers in North and South Dakota. Interested laboratories must provide a telecommunications service to interface with all 15 service units for the electronic communication of reportable information from the reference lab to the laboratory software application in the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) used by all 15 IHS laboratories. The Contractor will insure a courier service at no cost to the IHS for transportation of specimens provided by the 15 service units. The Contractor shall install, at no expense to the IHS, a personal computer and electronic receiver/printer in each service unit laboratory for contract related activities only. Services will be performed over a period of one (1) year from the date of award with four (4) one-year options to extend for a total of five years. The IHS anticipates the award of a fixed price ?Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity? type contract. Anticipated start of the contract is January 1, 2007. Requests for copies of RFP 07-03 will be available 15 days from the date of this publication. The offer due date is tentatively scheduled for December 7, 2006.
