- Under the direct supervision of the USAID-Djibouti Representative, the Senior Democracy and Governance Advisor will serve as the Mission?s key technical resource on democracy/governance (DG), anti-corruption (AC), and conflict prevention, mitigation and response (CPMR) issues and as a point of contact on matters relating to programming in these areas. The Advisor will also provide advice and oversee programs in this area such as consensus-building, elections, civil society strengthening and institutional capacity building as it relates to good governance. Following policy guidance from the US Embassy and in close collaboration with the Political Officer, s/he will facilitate the coordination and integration of all USAID democracy reform and development activities within the Mission portfolio and for ensuring that the design and implementation of all USAID democracy activities are fully coordinated with international organizations and donors active in these areas. The Advisor will be the key liaison for USAID-Djibouti activities with the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) as well as with other USG agencies and international organizations and foreign donors that provide assistance for democracy development.
