Description

Solicitation for the evaluation and possible standardization of Incontinence Skin Care Products. Those companies interested in a possible Regional Incentive Agreement (discounted DAPA pricing based on volume) with TRICARE Northwest Region must respo nd to the following questions: Clinical Criteria: Skin Cleansers: 1. Describe how your product easily removes urine and stool from the skin and prevents a greasy feeling. 2. Does your product provide non-traumatic cleansing (i.e., non-cytotoxic)? 3. Describe the active ingredients contained in your product to protect skin from moisture and irritants. Skin Moisturizers/Barriers: 1. Describe how your product is easily applied to the skin and prevents a greasy feeling. 2. Describe how your product is easy to remove from skin during cleansing. 3. Describe your products fragrance. Technical Criteria: Perineal Skin Cleansers 1. Describe how your product(s) remove urine and stool from the skin without compromising skin pH or loss of lipids. 2. Describe (if any) patient care provision advantages from using your companys product. 3. List the surfactants used in your products. 4. List the antibacterial agents used in your products. If none are used, so note. 5. Do your products require rinsing from the skin following use? Skin Moisturizers/Barriers: 1. List the active ingredients in your products that protect the patients skin. 2. List, if any, humectant(s) contained in your products. 3. List, if any, emollients added to your products. 4. List, if any, skin sealants contained in your products. Company Criteria: 1. Does your company provide products for use on the skin of incontinent patients including perineal skin cleansers and moisturizers? 2. List the brands available from your company and note next to each brand whether the product is manufactured or distributed by your firm. 3. How is each category of your incontinence products packaged? For example, skin cleansers are packaged in an impregnated towelette vs bottled as a liquid. 4. Does your company currently possess a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia? If so, please provide the DAPA number(s) for this product group. 5. Does your company have a Distribution agreement with Cardinal Healthcare? 6. Is your company large enough to satisfy product needs for the entire TRICARE Northwest (Washington and Alaska)? 7. Provide your companys return goods policy. 8. Does your company provide customer service support accessible via a toll-free number 24hrs/day 7 days/week? If not, what days/hours are covered 9. What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 10. Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group? If yes, please answer: a. Dates and duration b. Cause c. Resolution 11. Is your product suitable for use in a field setting? 12. Describe your companys proposed implementation plan if your company enters into an agreement with TRICARE Northwest region.
